After receiving my college degree, I returned to Mount Pleasant where I grew up as a boy to marry my childhood sweetheart. I wanted to live my life where I have had many pleasant memories and friends here in Mount Pleasant and the nearby cities and towns like Charleston, Ladson, Summerville, Ridgeville, Harleyville, Ravenel, Hollywood, and Meggett. But I believe now that married people have bigger financial problems than those who are single. As our children grew up, our expenses began to rise steadily year after year. I just want to make it clear that I am not complaining. I would never want to lose my family. It’s just that money problems are common problems for married people. For example, a month ago, we found that we did not have enough money to pay for our mortgage. I tried to borrow from my friends but the money they lent me was insufficient.

My parents knew that I did not want them to assist me financially because I wanted to prove to myself that I could handle life’s problems.
